The Memo Rovers Cricket Club Story
Memo Rovers CC compete in the Alice Springs Cricket Association, which falls under the immediate umbrella of NT Cricket. Like many sports in “a town like Alice”, it is a relatively small competition of 4 teams however each club fields 3 senior sides and junior teams consisting of Under 17's, Under 15's, Under 13's, Under 11's and Under 9's plus a Ladies Team, meaning 400+ players each week … not a bad effort.
All grades train at our newly refurbished nets at Braitling School adjacent to Rhonda Diano Oval, more commonly known as Head St oval for those locals and ex-pats. These nets were rebuilt prior to the start of the 2003/04 season with club money raised over the past years to ensure we have the best facilities in town.
We also make use of the best “social” facilities in town thanks to the generous sponsorship from the Alice Springs Memorial Club, AHA Club of the Year 2002. The Memorial Club provides the best venue in town, with cold beer on tap and plenty on ice, TAB, heaps of big screen T.V.’s, Pokies, Keno, award winning dining facilities and even child minding for those of us with ankle biters.
Guests are most welcome at any time so drop in and tell them “Memo Rovers Cricket” sent you.
Phone numbers for the committee and captains are on our “contact us” page so if you’re looking for a game just give one of us a call.
Thanks to Neil at Redback Productions for putting our site together. Redback do a great job at very very reasonable prices so make them a “must visit” for all your on-line needs.
We encourage you to send all your comments via Scotta on the email and he’ll do what ever it is he does that puts them on the site!
We look forward to your regular visits.
Cheers
