Good to see all grades backing up in the grand final again. Lets hope Weeksy and the retired Murph can get the C`s over the line this year for the premiership, along with Scotta`s B`s (and possibly his 4th in a row and second as Skipper) As for the A`s what more can be said about Blayne`s year, FANTASTIC!! and let`s hope he can top it off with another Big innings and Premiership. Good Luck Fellas.

PS. Won my first flag at Waybacks on the weekend.

Just surfing around on the web and found this site.Brought back many fond memories of playing for the Rovers, mainly 73 onwards. Was captain of the B's the day we went top A&B,I had promised the boys a box of champus if we won and we celebrated hard watching the A's win.Had to get results next day, sorta vaguely remember the phantom and the boys getting up.[phantom =ebert] Apparently we were very noisy barrackers that day.Cant see the name Fisher on any lists ,he was the gun bat ,along with Colbey.I live in Mt Compass and catch up a watch the locals play and we ended up with Shoota returning.
Anyhow, just to let you know am happily reminiscing abut those special days playing with a great team, and who can ever forget that ute with the fridge that accompanied us each game,Think, one stinking hot day we manged to leave Anzac oval around midnight and that fridge still had beers in it.I reckon it took at least half a slab to re-hydrate after a game.then another to relax..haha..
cheers

Just found your website, good to see good old rovers still doing well. I am a past player with federals as a junior & rovers as a senior. The last time i played up there was 1989-90, what a year just ask Murph, Weeksy, Trindle, Connors & Muzza all the best in future seasons.

Just stumbled onto your website, what a blast from the past!
Congrats on a job well done with the website! Hi to Ditch, Stats & Scotty Nicolai (if they still remember me!!). Even though I didn’t have much to do with the Cricket Club (more to do with the Rovers footy side) it was great to see all the ol’ names are still kicking around! Great to hear the club is doing well and that some old faces are still involved. I really enjoyed reading all the comments from your followers and actually finding out how some people that I knew are. I do miss the Alice (very, very cold in Tassie) and it was excellent to see the gap in the backgrounds of your pics you have on your fantastic site.
All the best to you all for next season.
Cheers for now!!

G'day lads,

Just thought I'd check out the site after enjoying your hospitality at the Master's Games. We can't thank you enough for the enormous support we received and for the way you looked after us. We attended a fund raiser for the Cancer Council last night in Ararat and I must say that Trigger is now a shadow of his former self. He drank soda water all night and claims he is still recovering from the trip to Alice. Carrie and Dally drank girlie drinks and even Blankets and I were reduced to light beer. Might just need the whole 2 years between games to recover.

We were discussing our training regime for next time and it was generally agreed that we need to taper off in our training as the games approached. Batesy suggested we start tapering in January.

You might be interested to know that Blandford's club (and mine) was chasing exactly 300 last week. We got there thanks to Blamb's 100 and our coach's 150 no. Blankets has now made more runs in the last 3 weeks than he has in the last 3 years!!

As the boys are flushed with success we have now decided to enter a team in the local twenty/20 competition. We'll keep you posted.

Anyway just wanted to wish you all the best for this year. We will follow the results on the site. Thanks again for everything.

Cheers

This is to confirm the result of Rovers 121 to Wests 119 from last Saturdays A Grade game.
Christo has reconstructed the books and spoken with players and believes that this was the correct result. The ASCA executive have considered his report and support the finding.

Thanks to the Cricket Club for the kind words about Dad (Dave Ditcham) it was much appreciated. He enjoyed the cricket lads company and the storys from myself and Steve about the games and the goings on, on & off the field!
Good luck this season, I will follow with interest as usual
